North Town Mall
0North Town Centre is previously known as North Town Mall. It is a shopping centre owned by the Anthem Properties which was launched in 1975. It is located in the northern part of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and is undergoing a 2-year redevelopment. Targeted for full completion in spring 2009, it is estimated to cover 25,000 m2 or 270,000 square feet as store and office space. Included in its architectural plan are 900 parking stalls and holds a major ETS station and large Co-op taxi stand. Its anchor patrons include London Drugs with 56,261 sq. ft. opening in spring of 2008 and T & T Supermarket covering 47,515 sq. ft. opening on April 2009.
With Vancouver’s Anthem Properties purchasing the mall in 2006, it planned a big-time renovation plan to expand to a 270,000-sq. ft. from the previous 180,000 sq. ft. area. Due to the busy schedule of architects in Edmonton, the improved North Town Mall was then designed by Nejmark Architects from Winnipeg. It is expected that the new landscape will give a modern and warm projection and the parking lots will be smoother-flowing.
There is no doubt the Centre will fill one of the city’s largest vacant spaces.
