Edmonton Radio Stations
2Just like most people, Canadians, especially the people of Edmonton, love music. This fact is evidenced by the success of numerous FM broadcasting stations in the city. Here are some of the most popular FM radio stations in the city of Edmonton:
CFBR 100.3: The Bear
The classics, ironically, will never grow old. To make sure of this, Standard Broadcasting developed an FM radio station especially dedicated to classic rock: CFBR 100.3: The Bear. The artists featured in The Bear playlists include everbody from Ozzy Osbourne and AC/DC to Metallica and, of course, the Beatles. Also included in the The Bear’s heavy rotation are songs from the “new” classic rock artists like Breaking Benjamin, Nine Inch Nails, Collective Soul, The White Stripes, and Smashing Pumpkins.
CKNG 92.5 Joe FM
The phrase “I listen to Joe” has an entirely different meaning in Edmonton. Listening to “Joe” in this context means listening to CKNG 92.5 Joe FM, one of the most popular FM radio stations in the city. By playing a wide variety of songs from different decades and genres, the DJs at Joe FM stay true to their “80s, 90s…everything!” slogan without imposing that annoying last song syndrome to their listeners.
CISN Country 103.9 FM
One of the longest running FM broadcasting stations in Edmonton is CISN Country 103.9 FM. The station, which is owned by Corus Entertainment, plays songs from the country music genre. Songs from popular country artists like George Strait, Jaydee Brixby, and Doc Walker are all on CISN Country’s heavy rotation. CISN Country 103.9 FM, according to 2008 spring ratings, is the most listened to radio station in the city of Edmonton.
I would be curious to hear about the AM stations in Edmonton since my firm is in the process of selecting a station to advertise on
Hi Shannon, not too sure how the AM stations differ in their advertising rates and effectiveness. Best of luck in your search!
