Baccarat casino in Edmonton, Alberta is one of the two gateway casinos in the area. Offering a 24-hour poker room with a 30,000-square foot gaming space that accommodates some 320 slots and 27 table games, it attracts players from the combined high-rolling Asian enthusiasts and residents of downtown Edmonton including hotel guests. Because it has been attracting more and more customers recently, it has plans to significantly redevelop and expand its area to be one of the city’s largest casinos.

The casino opened in October 1996 and is located at the corner of 104th Avenue and 101st Street in the downtown area. Costing an approximate $2.2 million, the structure was built by Carlson Construction of Edmonton to become the City of Edmonton’s third casino (except St Albert’s Gold Dust Casino). It was originally owned by a group of Chinese-Canadian businessmen. In 2000, the casino ranked second in Alberta in terms of profits. At present Baccarat Casino is owned and operated by Gateway Casinos Inc. (GCI).
