Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm, together with RGE RD restaurant and UnWined, are joining forces to host the Northern Lands Prairie Collective Gourmet Holiday Market on Sunday, Dec. 3.

The event, fashioned after traditional Italian and German Christmas markets, is $5 per person ($10 for a family carload) and runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prairie Gardens is near Bon Accord, at 6311 Lily Lake Road, about 25 minutes north of Edmonton.

According to a news release, the focus of the Christmas market is on local, sustainable and hand-made foods. Select local farmers, chefs, and artisans are offering gourmet holiday fare, along with expert wine and spirits advice, cheery bonfires and cozy, warm greenhouses.

There will also be craftspeople and other artists on site. Watch for RGE RD-made pâtés, smoked meats, sausages, and wood-fired oven breads. Fine wine by UnWined, as well as whiskey tastings, are part of the fun.

In addition to Christmas shopping, other highlights include family-friendly activities such as a visit with Santa, outdoor winter fun, folk music, and Polar Express trackless train rides, plus winter bale mazes, an indoor petting farm and tours of a sustainable, year-round micro greens greenhouse at this small scale local farm.
